Help

How does it work?

The official guide to using Novirae to the fullest. You can come back here anytime via the "Help" link at the bottom of every page.

The basics

Novirae lets you keep track of every book you've read, so you can recommend one instantly when asked, or check reviews of a title you just heard about. We're a community of readers who love to discuss, rate and sort their reading.

Mark a book as read

On a book's page, the "My tracking" card lets you choose your status — To read, Reading or Read. To record a real reading, click "I read this book": you open the full form with date, rating from 0.5 to 5 stars, thoughts and tags. You can reread a book you've already read: every reading is kept.

To-read list

On a book's page, choose the status "To read" to set it aside. You'll find it again in your journal and on your profile.

Log a reading

Logging a book lets you note the date you finished it, your rating, a comment and tags. All logged books go into your Reading space, which will be precious for your year-end recap. You can also simply rate without logging.

Capture quotes

On a book's page, you can add a quote manually. All your quotes are searchable and taggable by theme in the Quotes section. You'll also get a "quote of the day" pulled from your own library.

Follow members

The best way to find interesting readers: read the reviews of books you love and spot the voices that speak to you. The more you follow, the more your feed becomes personal. Our Members page shows popular accounts.

Badges, levels and challenges

We celebrate every finished book with badges (Around the world, Time travel, Marathoner…). No global leaderboard — reading isn't a competition. Your stats simply place you relative to the community average, anonymously.
