Dans le droit archaïque romain, Homo sacer est un homme qu'on peut tuer sans commettre d'homicide, mais qu'on ne peut pas mettre à mort dans les formes rituelles. Cest cette vie insacrifiable et pourtant absolument exposée à la mort qui donne ici la clef d'une relecture de notre tradition politique.
